Respect the mailing list type

Luxor has two high-traffic lists.

• The "User" list where you can send questions and comments about configuration, setup, usage and other "user" types of questions to fellow Luxor users and enthusiasts.
• The "Developer" list where you can send questions and comments about the core Luxor source code and general "development" types of questions to the Luxor kernel hackers.

Some questions are appropriate for posting on both the "user" and the "developer" lists. In this case, pick one and only one. Never cross post.

Refrain from asking a configuration question on the developer list because developers' time is as precious as yours. By contacting developers directly instead of the users you are abusing their time. In fact, it is unlikely that you will get a quicker answer, if at all.

Keep your email short and to the point.

If your email is more than a page of text, chances are most people will ignore it. Instead try to pack a lot of informative information into as small of an email as possible. If you are replying to a previous email, only quote the parts you are replying to and remove the unnecessary bits. helping everybody to follow a thread and making the email archives easier to search and read.

Avoid sending HTML or "Stylelized" email. Use "Plain Text" only.

If you are using Lookout (that is, Outlook) or Eudora, chances are that you are sending HTML email by default. Please, change your settings to send "Plain Text" email only.
